i don't know if this site has a purpose, other than the fact that it lets me have a cool domain name like psyduck.net, but i have always liked the idea of having my own little space on the internet.
maybe no one will look at my site. maybe some people will, but then forget about it after looking at it once. maybe psyduck fans will come here thinking that it's a fan site. maybe this website will transform minds and revolutionize how people look at yellow big-eyed ducks, chinese-looking filipino girls and the color blue... maybe this website can change the world!!
or maybe not.
either way, it's here.

So I'm exactly a week late... but in honor of the recent release of Chamillionaire's album, Ultimate Victory, I decided to post the cover of Larrionaire's new album. How cool of Chamillionaire to collaborate with his twin brother, Larry, on his very first album. What a striking resemblance!
Besides opening doors, smiling has numerous physical and psychological benefits:
Research indicates that optimistic, smiling people have stronger immune systems and are actually able to fight off illness better than pessimists.
The British Dental Health Foundation found a smile gives the same level of stimulation as eating 2,000 chocolate bars. The same result without the calories: that is definitely something to smile about!
Smiling is contagious. Psychologist Dr. David Lewis says, “Seeing a smile creates what is termed as a ‘halo’ effect, helping us to remember other happy events more vividly, feel more optimistic, more positive and more motivated.” One bug that is okay to pass on.
Smiling people are more attractive. Frowns, scowls and grimaces push people away. Smiles draw people in.
Smiling reduces your blood pressure. Dr. Mark Stibich offers this suggestion, “Give it a try if you have a blood pressure monitor at home. Sit for a few minutes, take a reading. Then smile for a minute and take another reading while still smiling. Do you notice a difference?”
Smiling and laughing is good medicine. Life coach Lisa Branigan writes, “Some doctors are using laughter therapy to replace anti-depressants and to reduce the use of painkillers. According to researchers faking laughter will also produce the same health and wellbeing results as real laughter.”
Yet, look around you. How many people are smiling? A smile costs nothing to give, but can mean the world to receive.
“Today, give a stranger one of your smiles. It might be the only sunshine he sees all day.”
- H. Jackson Brown, Jr.
I wonder if anyone would really use this? Ahem, lucky for me, I have no need to shell out bucks for the sticker pack. I make my own dings and scratches the old fashioned way.

Updated the pics page with old pictures I found. I love memories! :)
Sorry the american idol links below don't wory anymore. Also, I tried to finally fix the page so that the website looks somewhat decent on firefox. Can you please let me know if it doesn't, or if you use another browser like opera or safari and it still looks weirdly positioned? Thanks!

Everyone who knows me pretty well knows that I always have a date lined up every Tuesday and Wednesday night... with American Idol, of course! Hollywood week is finally going to start this week, and in honor of the excitement that is sure to come, I wanted to share with you all some of my favorite auditions. I wanted to put more, but their youtube videos went away. Sorry if some of the videos below turn out not to work anymore. Maybe my favorites will change as the show progresses, but based on what was shown on the audition shows, here are some of the most entertaining:
Chris Sligh
I like to root for non-typical American Idol types who sing well. Take, for example, Clay Aiken. :)

Paul Kim
And the Asian-American vote goes to...
Melinda Doolittle
She is so cute! She doesn't have much confidence, but she sings soo well. She already seems like a professional solo singer. Probably my favorite so far!
Sanjaya Malakar
How can you resist someone who smiles so much?? The video clip cuts it out, but I like when he comes out of the audition room and Ryan asks, "So who did they say was better, you or your sister?," and he declines to say, even though it was obviously him. Humility gets my vote every time!
Sean Michel
"Everybody says I look like either Osama Bin Laden, or Jesus, or Castro... or just homeless bum. But really, I think all of us are kinda homeless when it comes down to it, all of us are really poor inside." Haha, what a unique American Idol. Too bad I heard that he may have gotten cut from Hollywood week for refusing to cut his hair. Good for him. Fight the system!!!
Sundance Head
He can't dance. Just like me! Yay!
Dani McCulloch
She is a good singer, but her personality doesn't seem very likable. We'll see!
Brandon Rogers
Just like Melinda Doolittle, it's time for the backup singers to step up and shine.
Katie Bernard
Katie and I have similar problems when we pick up the phone. Hooray for girls with little voices!
That's all for now. Go watch American Idol for yourself!

Random entry.
Some of my favorite songs EVER (in no particular order):
1. Drift Away - Dobie Gray
2. Summer of ‘69 - Bryan Adams
3. More Than Words - Extreme
4. The Way You Look Tonight - Tony Bennett
5. One Way Ticket - Neil Sedaka
6. Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems - Notorious BIG
7. Remedy - Jason Mraz
8. I’ll Be - Edwin McCain
9. Here I Am, Lord/The Summons/Be Not Afraid - Catholic hymns
10. For the Longest Time/Uptown Girl - Billy Joel
11. Lean On Me - Bill Withers
12. Valentine - Martina McBride
I bet I forgot a whole bunch. Oh well. Anyway, speaking of music, I just
bought two CDs today. One is the new Norah Jones CD, which I just quickly
listened to, and am not yet impressed with yet. Maybe I need to listen to the songs all the
way through. The other CD I bought was a Vienna Teng CD that I didn’t have yet:
Warm Strangers. I really like her… she sings folk-pop and her music is really
relaxing. She’s Taiwanese, studied piano since she was little, and went to
Stanford to study computers until she got a record deal. It’s kinda cool
because the last song on her CD is in Mandarin.
Larry and I talked about that before… He would listen to some songs in
different languages, and I would tell him that I couldn’t imagine myself falling
in love with them because I didn’t know what they were saying. I listen to
lyrics a lot. Maybe that’s why I know the lyrics to a lot of songs. But then
again, some of the songs up on my list above don’t have the most amazing lyrics,
either. A lot of them are there because of how they make me feel, who they
remind me of, and what time in my life they bring me back to. I love how music
can sum up a whole period of your life or whatever feeling you’re having within
4 minutes or less.
Here's Vienna Teng! She's playing Homecoming (Walter's Song), off her Warm Strangers album.
I updated the pics page with more, well... pictures.

Wow! Two updates in two days! I'm on a roll. Anyway, I was inspired by the demotivator posting I put up yesterday, as well as by my love of procrastination, to make some 'demotivators' of my own using pictures of me or pictures I've taken. Maybe they're not as pessimistic as the ones on despair.com, but I had fun doing them. I'm really interested in hearing any alternate captions you may have thought of...leave a comment at the bottom if you have one. I had more I wanted to do, but I really need to start studying!!
